  1. I have been writing to Pastor Butch Paugh, e-mail, and trying to get him to see more clearly but he is a tough nut to crack. The minute you stray from what he believes, he withdraws. I am sure he generally has a good heart but he does not listen to reason. He is so stuck on the King James.
Anyway, I am writing to him about his recent broadcast and his comments about those that will be dammed to eternal hell… etc. I got him to say he would send me some books on hell. One of them is called Twenty Three Minutes in Hell. So I Googled that and got the Amazon page with your write-up on that book. I am glad you didn’t buy it and I am not buying the one Butch is to send to me either.
I must have been to your site before as I went to the Leave a Reply page and there is my name, e-mail address, and the web page of my friend Jim Coram.
I think people like Butch are so ingrained to our culture, the one that tells us we must hit back, retaliate, get even, get revenge, that he truly wants to believe in eternal hell punishment and damnation. It is John 3:27 keeping him in the dark I would say. How sad. We have hate laws now and I think the people like Butch would be put away for the hate he has expounding eternal damnation. It would be all right with me if all the hell fire preachers were locked up because they are truly spewing hate and false ideas of our loving God.

  2. Dear Bob:

First: Are you really associated with Concordant Publishing Concern? I’d be rather amused to know that my little site has attracted their attention.

Second: You’re going to have to forgive me, as I have no idea what you’re talking about much of the time. A little googling enabled me to determine that Jim Coram is the head of Concordant Publishing Concern, though you seemed to assume that I already knew that. You also seem to assume that I know who “Pastor Butch Paugh” is. I don’t, though after some Googling, I found a really badly-made website for a pastor of that name.

You may have me confused with someone else. Could you back up a little and tell me who Butch Paugh is?

Third: Replies to specific parts of your post:

“He is so stuck on the King James.”

Amen, Brother! The King James Bible is, for all its literary merit, an atrocious translation. But so are several others. The trouble is the large number of nuts who think that the King James Version is infallible. I always want to ask(since they are in the habit of referring to it as the “Authorized Version) “Who authorized it?” I really should finish that post I started against the KJVO movement.

“So I Googled that and got the Amazon page with your write-up on that book. I am glad you didn’t buy it and I am not buying the one Butch is to send to me either.”

I’m confused. Did he indicate that he wanted you to buy it? Or are you just saying that to reassure me?

“I must have been to your site before as I went to the Leave a Reply page and there is my name, e-mail address, and the web page of my friend Jim Coram.”

I can’t say whether you’ve been to my site before, but you’ve certainly never commented before, unless Akismet blocked it, in which case, I don’t know why this one should have gotten through. Perhaps you commented on a different WordPress blog and the info carried over.

“We have hate laws now and I think the people like Butch would be put away for the hate he has expounding eternal damnation.”

You’re getting into dangerous territory, my friend. I am as opposed to Hell Preaching as you are, but we can’t just lock people up for what they believe or say. Butch Paugh is wrong, but “putting him away” isn’t the answer.

“It would be all right with me if all the hell fire preachers were locked up because they are truly spewing hate and false ideas of our loving God.”

The irony here is biting. Do you have any idea what you sound like? This is not the way to help our cause. You aren’t exactly shining with the love of God here, man!
